Heading to Monterey

Best combination of weather and traffic I've EVER had on PCH near Big Sur. 🤯 Usually you have to choose between the early morning fog to take advantage of lighter traffic, or deal with the slowpokes in the afternoon when the skies clear up. In this case I was heading south on Friday early afternoon, which under normal circumstances might be pretty bad for traffic, however the road is still closed further south due to landslides earlier in the year. So you don't have all the families traveling the coast since they can't get through, and you don't have all the beach goers and selfie seekers since they're still at work. Suckers!! 🤣 Seriously though, the 40 mile drive south from Monterey to the point where the road closes is just perfect right now if you can time it right.

P.S. if you're wondering why I was driving SOUTH on PCH after having just left LA, it's because like I said the road is closed at a certain point, so to get to my weekend camping spot in Big Sur I had to take inland roads north from LA all the way to Monterey, then circle back down south on PCH to reach Big Sur. That wasn't quite the original plan, but I aint even mad about it
