Mt. Blue Sky
Mt. Blue Sky (formerly Mt. Evans)... better than Pikes Peak I have to say 🤯 Mt. Blue Sky has the highest paved road in North America, but the absolute summit is already closed for the year so I didn't quite get to go to the tippy top. Still though, the drive up and hike around Summit Lake is incredibly beautiful and definitely feels like you've been transported somewhere else. And yeah, in my experience it seems like a much more enjoyable overall visit compared to that of Pikes Peak which is of very similar altitude. Way fewer people, way more peaceful route in, actual wildlife present, more variety of terrain, numerous hike options. Will have to come back though to reach the true summit!
