Point Montara Hostel
Stayed a night at Point Montara Lighthouse Hostel 😍 I've been looking for the opportunity to stay at an old light station; many offer it and many look really cool, but also tend to be quite expensive. I was very excited to discover this one just outside San Francisco, much more within my budget and still extremely cool! So much character. The tower itself is especially interesting too as it originally started life in 1881 on the east coast, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts! In 1925 it made its way 3000 miles across the country to Yerba Buena, CA, but lived there only a short time before being relocated once again in 1928 to Point Montara where it remains today. Quite the well traveled chunk of steel.
