Canyonlands National Park

"A lifetime of exploration awaits you at Canyonlands National Park" is the motto printed on their brochures. And yeah, that definitely checks out 🤯 While in Utah I stepped foot in Zion, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, Arches, and Canyonlands national parks. THIS is the one I'll choose to come back to first to explore when I get to spend more time in Utah later. Pictures rarely do anything justice, and that's especially true here. The vastness of this space is unfathomable, and the realization that what I saw in my 3 hours here isn't even a blip on the radar makes the visit feel a little bittersweet in some way. I've never felt so unsatisfied leaving someplace, simply because I still want to see so much more of it! One thing that's definitely going straight onto my bucket list is to come back here in a 4x4 one day (like the Land Cruiser perhaps!). There's a 100 mile off road trail around the perimeter of the canyon called the White Rim Road. Sometimes you get that feeling in your gut that there's something you MUST do, and the discovery of this trail gave me that feeling. Aside from that, there are multiple other regions of the park all totally separate from each other, and yeah I only very briefly went through just one of them. Of all the parks in Utah I visited, this one very obviously holds the biggest opportunity to find real solitude in. It's so incredibly huge and quite a bit more off the beaten path than the others, that yeah this is the one to let yourself get lost in for sure. Can't wait to come back. 🙌
